The Great Cory Library Fieldtrip! Blog 22, More on notebooks v blogs

Wednesday 6 Aug: Puzzling through ideas is a funny business. A blog seems primarily for other people, and can be detailed or really perfunctory. A notebook is a more private kind of space and enables meanderings of a less than sorted out kind. Blog22aDays in the Cory whizz past and the hands and eyes and the front of the mind reads, writes notes, photographs etc. But somewhere else there is a kind of thrum, a low noise in a deeper or at least a more background space. There, I am preoccupied with the interconnections – that at points the lives of disparite people touch, however glancingly. This sounds vague, superficial and not terribly important. Ah, but in the notebook it shapes up, literally speaking. See my notebook pages, the bits and pieces but also how they touch. These are not networks, that term of superficial one-dimensionality. They are figurations, and I aim to draw the research parameters in a way that if possible will stretch widely enought to link everything up.
