Zondo Commission book

Zondo Commission book

The Zondo Commission was set up to investigate what is colloquially known as ‘state capture’ in South Africa. It met over a three year period and produced a number of reports, the last earlier in 2022. In September, a book by well-known journalist-activist Ferial Haffajee, associate editor of the Daily Maverick, will be published which dissects their wealth of detail and interprets their major points of analysis. Among other things, Days of Zondo will also discuss an interview with Judge Zondo. The mass of Zondo information is difficult to generalise about because there is so much of it. And so Haffajee’s synthesising account is sure to be a landmark publication with regard to uncovering and mapping the tentacles of state capture and the spiralling effects of these. A review of the book will appear as a Whites Writing Whiteness blog when it is published. It can be pre-ordered from the Daily Maverick website and will be available through Amazon as well. Haffajee is also author of the thought-provoking What if there were no more whites in South Africa?
