Special collections are mainly housed in one of the reading rooms in the new Weston Library. All users of the Bodleian Libraries require a library card. Details of the information and photograph required for this should be checked on the Bodleian website before arriving. Most categories of users will need a letter of introduction and proof of identity and address.

A wide range of collections are available, including rich oldings in Commonwealth and African areas.
